A Moreninha do Rio

This is paçoca. Paçoca is one of my new favorite treats here. It’s made of peanuts and sugar, kind of a little peanut powder ball. Think of the insides of a Reeses cup.

And this, on the wrapper of the paçoca, is the Moreninha do Rio, or, roughly translated The Little Tan Girl of Rio. Funny how the wrapper has nothing to do with the food, huh?
