Half in Brazil: Maria Aurea

So about a week or so ago, I took a quick but wonderful bus trip down to São Paulo to visit a good friend of mine.  Damaris is a fellow blogger and took me on lots of fun adventures around the city, which you can feel free to check out here and here and here. Or you can see her great Foodbuzz 24×24 post about it.

But I have to admit that beyond visiting a great friend, I had some sneaky ulterior motives for going to São Paulo. You see, Damaris is Brazilian, married to Christian, an American, and luckily for me, the mother of two adorable mixed children! (tell me you see where I’m going with this). I couldn’t restrain myself, and in a moment when I was alone playing with the kids, my blogger self jumped for my camera. Luckily, the baby of the family, Maria Aurea, agreed to give me an interview. Her older brother decided that he would prefer to have more time to prepare his answers, and agreed to give me an interview the next time I see him in Itacaré.

So here is the video of my interview with Maria Aurea. I decided to go for a kind of documentary look, so if you’re wondering, all of the shaking is totally on purpose. Also, I didn’t have time to translate the entire interview, so I decided to translate some key points that she makes for those of you who don’t speak Portuguese. Enjoy!
